LAS VEGAS (December 12, 2023) – Lewis Roca and its lawyers received multiple awards at the annual Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN) 2023 Pro Bono awards ceremony.

Meng Zhong, a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group, earned the highest recognition from LACSN—the 2023 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. This prestigious accolade acknowledges Zhong's exceptional dedication, embodying the spirit of contributing time, talents, and energies to benefit others, particularly those unable to advocate for themselves. Zhong's remarkable contributions amounted to over 200 hours of pro bono work in 2023.

The firm itself earned acclaim as the recipient of the 2023 Law Firm of the Year award. This recognition is bestowed upon a firm exemplifying a true commitment to pro bono work and access to justice. Lewis Roca handled the highest number of pro bono cases this past year and actively participated in several programs, including the Nevada Supreme Court Appellate Program, the Federal Pro Bono program, Family Law, the Children’s Attorneys Project, and the Ask-A-Lawyer program.

In addition, Lewis Roca was honored with the prestigious Lied Award for Most Pro Bono Cases by a Law Firm, for the seventh consecutive year. The firm received this award due to accepting the highest number of new pro bono cases this past year in various areas of law, including appeals, CAP, consumer, and landlord-tenant. The firm also volunteered for numerous Ask-A-Lawyer events.

Furthermore, three Lewis Roca lawyers—Meng Zhong, Brittni Tanenbaum, and Dan Waite—were acknowledged in the 100+ Hours Club, each contributing over 100 hours to pro bono cases. Additionally, six lawyers—Ogonna Brown, Salma Granich, Jennifer Hostetler, Chris Jorgensen, Eric Kohli, and John McCormick-Huhn—were recognized in the 50 Hours Club for contributing over 50 hours to pro bono cases. The firm also celebrated the inclusion of 13 lawyers in the "Honor Roll" category, recognizing those who accepted a new pro bono case during the year. This group included all the aforementioned individuals and the following: John E. Bragonje, Trent Earl, Stephen Steele, and Lauren Wigginton.
