Ryan Swank is a partner in Lewis Roca's Intellectual Property Practice Group. U.S.-based and international clients rely on Ryan for patent consultation, patent preparation, and patent prosecution. He also has experience in filing and prosecuting trademarks.

In utilizing his degree in electrical engineering, Ryan is particularly familiar with display devices, touch screens, batteries, LTE technology, solar cells, radar, automated driving technology, electric motors and drive systems, artificial intelligence, computer memory and data processing, and many other technical fields.

Before attending law school, Ryan interned as an electrical engineer responsible for comprehensive engineering design projects related to safety redundancy and quality control of three-phase submersible electric motors. While earning his electrical engineering degree at Arizona State University, Ryan focused on electromagnetics, antenna theory, network communication, signals processing, and steady state controls, as well as physics generally.

As an experienced IP lawyer, Ryan is known for his ability to work with innovative clients. He is adaptable to changing situations, and able to handle last minute updates or additions to inventions. Ryan goes above and beyond for his clients, and finds strategic ways to advance his clients' business goals. His favorite part about being a lawyer is connecting and collaborating with brilliant people, and learning about new ideas, businesses, and inventions.

Ryan likes playing poker, snorkeling, and skiing. He travels to Park City, Utah once a year and enjoys skiing with friends and family.
