Lewis Roca Welcomes Lawyer to Intellectual Property Practice

DENVER (August 10, 2022) – Lewis Roca announced Nicholas E. Kolderman has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group as an Associate in Denver.

Kolderman, with a background in biomedical engineering, focuses his practice on patent application drafting and prosecution in the mechanical, electrical, and computer software arts including automotive, smart sensor, wireless communication, computer networking, and machine learning technologies. He also has experience managing patent portfolios, developing prosecution strategies, and assessing intellectual property aspects of business transactions. Prior to private practice, Kolderman served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he reviewed a broad spectrum of medical technologies comprising EKG/EEG/EMG circuits and electrodes, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and gait/motion tracking algorithms.

Kolderman received his J.D. from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law, his M.S.B.M.E. from Wayne State University, and his B.S. from Bowling Green State University. He is admitted to the bars of Colorado, Ohio, and the USPTO and continues to utilize his combination of public and private sector experience to successfully protect client innovations.
