DENVER (June 8, 2021) – Lewis Roca announced two members of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, Ben Ochoa and Angela Vichick, have been appointed to the Board of the Directors of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association's Foundation. Ochoa and Vichick will serve three-year terms as board members and will provide guidance on and support for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation’s service mission—funding scholarships for law students attending the University of Colorado Law School or the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Before being appointed to the Foundation, Ochoa served as a member of the Board of Directors and was Chair of the association’s Nominations and Endorsements committee.

Ochoa has focused his 30 years of legal practice in the areas of construction law and litigation, real estate litigation, and ‎commercial litigation. He represents construction ‎lenders, owners and developers, special districts, property owners' ‎associations, contractors, design professionals, and insurance carriers. Ochoa also has extensive experience litigating, arbitrating, and ‎mediating a broad range of civil disputes in Colorado state courts, the ‎U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and various arbitration ‎and mediation forums. He also has experience in the ‎Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth ‎Circuit.

In addition to construction litigation, Ochoa also has significant construction-related transactional experience representing owners, lenders, and contractors in the negotiation, drafting, and administration of construction contracts on both private and public construction projects. He also has significant experience in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a "qualified neutral" arbitrator and mediator and has been widely recognized as an arbitrator and mediator in both construction-related and general commercial-related disputes.

Vichick’s practice focuses on representing individual and institutional clients in complex and commercial litigation matters. With expertise in business and real estate disputes,  her advocacy experience includes dispositive motions practice, evidentiary hearings, settlement and arbitration proceedings, trials and post-trial proceedings, and appellate proceedings before the Colorado Court of Appeals, Colorado Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Actively involved in the Denver community, Vichick currently serves as a co-chair of the CHBA’s pro bono committee, as a mentor in the Law School…Yes We Can Colorado’s Arguello Dream Catchers program, and as the lead mock trial coach at Arrupe Jesuit High School. She is also an elected member of the Executive Board for the Rose Andom Center’s Young Professionals Council.
