Kory is a problem solver who enjoys untangling complicated legal issues and resolving disputes.

Kory Koerperich is a skilled litigator who handles trials and appeals in Arizona and Nevada. Kory is an exceptional researcher and writer with a knack for getting to the heart of an issue. He understands the importance of being able to simplify complex factual and legal issues, whether it be for his clients, a judge, or a jury.

Kory is a member of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group, which, in addition to handling appeals and writ petitions, is often retained before trial to help identify, raise, and respond to critical legal arguments. Kory has experience as both trial counsel and appellate counsel in formulating and responding to dispositive motions, motions in limine, trial briefs, jury instructions, post-trial motions, and other case-altering issues.

In addition, Kory works on litigation and administrative matters for the firm’s Tribal Affairs and Gaming practice groups, as well as the Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation group.  He has also represented plaintiffs in personal injury actions.

Kory remains committed to public service, earning the distinction of being named a Top 50 Pro Bono Attorney in Arizona for 2022 by the Arizona Bar Foundation for Legal Services & Education.  Kory has also served as a coach and instructor for the Lewis Roca Trial Academy, presenting classes on how to conduct effective direct and cross examinations.

Kory’s current practice is a natural extension of his experience before joining the firm. He began his career as an appellate law clerk under the mentorship of the Honorable Justice Kristina Pickering of the Nevada Supreme Court. After his judicial clerkship, Kory prosecuted criminal cases in northern Arizona as a deputy Coconino County attorney. There, he appeared daily in court and represented the State of Arizona at numerous substantive hearings and trials. He also drafted briefs for special actions and appeals, which led to his first published opinions as an advocate. His colleagues frequently sought his analytical insight and advocacy skills in particularly complicated or high-profile cases.

Personal Approach

Kory brings a calm disposition and attention to detail to chaotic and high-stakes litigation. He resolutely advocates for his clients while maintaining open and honest communication to best meet their goals.

When Kory is not working on a case, he loves traveling with his wife and daughter, and enjoying good food and conversation with family and friends. He also enjoys watching sports, particularly basketball, and likes to play golf.
