Lewis Roca Welcomes Two Lawyers to Tucson Office

TUCSON (May 5, 2022) – Lewis Roca announced Sivan Korn and Patrick Emerson McCormick, CIPP/US have joined the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group in Tucson. With the addition of both Korn and McCormick, the firm expands its depth of legal counsel to include real estate, litigation, corporate law, healthcare, tribal law, bankruptcy, intellectual property, and data privacy and cybersecurity in Tucson.

Korn joins the firm as a Partner and is an experienced commercial litigator. Drawing on 20 years of experience, she represents and counsels clients on a full range of commercial litigation issues, including licensing disputes, trade secret litigation, restrictive covenants, and partnership disputes. Korn has represented clients in federal and state courts, including successful representation of life science companies in complex, high-stakes intellectual property litigation. Her experience spans from crafting resolutions to avoid litigation, to representation through trial and appeal, including strategic assessment of claims and defenses, cost-effective discovery management, tactical briefing, settlement evaluation, and advocacy at trial and appeal.

Korn serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Pima County Superior Court. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute and a member of the Institute’s Restatement of Corporate Governance Consultant Group. She has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the area of trade secret law since 2019.

Korn received her LL.M., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, and her LL.B., magna cum laude, from the College of Management Academic Studies (COMAS), School of Law in Tel Aviv, Israel.

McCormick, an Associate, is licensed in California and Arizona. He has broad experience in the areas of corporate, intellectual property, and emerging industries litigation. He handles matters for a diverse client base. McCormick specializes in issues for his corporate clients from formation to dissolution and everything in between, including profit sharing, licensing, real estate, and derivative actions. McCormick is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and assists clients on how to best protect themselves from data breaches, and to respond if one occurs. He is also a Certified Blockchain Professional providing him the opportunity to assist clients with blockchain issues through all stages of litigation, from discovery to collecting a judgement.

Before relocating to Tucson, McCormick served as Secretary of the P.I.C.O. Neighborhood Council and was the founding CFO of Friends of GALA, a 501(c)(3) for the benefit of an all-girl public STEM school in Los Angeles. McCormick received his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, during which time he worked at the USC IP and Technology Law Clinic. He also externed for the Honorable Neil W. Bason, C.D. Cal. Bkr. He received his B.S. from Oklahoma State University, cum laude.
