PHOENIX (April 16, 2019) – Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP lawyer Nicole True is the recipient of the Maricopa County Bar Association’s 2019 Steven A. Hirsch Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. This annual award is presented to young lawyers who embody the mission of the Maricopa County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”), which is to serve the community and enrich the legal profession.

True, an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group, focuses her practice on defending insurance coverage decisions made under medical, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, life, and property insurance policies, including those governed by the Employee and Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

True has held various leadership positions within Maricopa County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division for the past four years and was the recipient of the Board Member of the Year Award in 2017 and 2018. Prior to joining the firm, True clerked for ‎Honorable Thomas D. Waterman at the Iowa Supreme Court where she ‎researched and drafted memos and judicial opinions.‎ She was also a legal assistant for an Iowa law firm defending the state against tobacco companies’ claims to recover ‎‎$150 million in payments made to the state under a multi-state settlement agreement. True received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, with high distinction, Order of the Coif and her B.S. from the University of Iowa.
