Colorado Springs Lunch with a Lawyer:

A Conversation with a Hearing Officer from the State Unemployment Division

We provide the lunch, you provide the questions

June 18, 2019

We have a special guest this month for our Lunch with a Lawyer event. Karen Sheridan, from the Unemployment Division of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, will be joining us to provide helpful information about the overall goals of the agency and the process of responding to and appealing, a claim for unemployment. She will also address some new regulations relating to the reasons a claimant might be awarded unemployment compensation.

We are delighted that Ms. Sheridan can join us because we know that employers always have questions about this process, and she will be able to provide great insights. Although she obviously won’t be able to answer questions about specific claims or make global statements guaranteeing a grant or denial of claims, this luncheon is designed to provide you with a better overview of how the agency operates and guidance regarding steps you can take to better prepare for a claim and the related hearing.

This is a topic that applies to all employers who are covered by state unemployment compensation and this event is specifically focused on senior leadership and middle-management at your organization, as well as those in your HR Department who are managing the unemployment claim process.

Time: 12 pm - 1 pm – Complimentary lunch will be available beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Location:
90 South Cascade Avenue, Suite 1100
