Lewis Roca Elects New Members of Executive Committee

DENVER (April 2, 2019) – Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP has elected Emily Bayton and Mike Plachy as members of the firm’s Executive Committee effective April 1, 2019. They will each serve a five-year term as Executive Committee members, roles previously held by veteran litigation lawyer, Fred Baumann and IP attorney, Jennifer Van Kirk.

The firm’s Executive Committee consists of nine members led by the firm’s managing partner, Ken Van Winkle. Bayton and Plachy will contribute to the management of Firm business and the implementation of strategies and initiatives to further address client needs.

Bayton, a partner in the firm’s Denver office and previously the co-practice group leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, assists global clients with the building, maintenance and protection of their vital IP resources. She assists clients with trademark selection, clearance, registration and prosecution. She also analyzes her clients’ trademark portfolios to ensure they have appropriate worldwide coverage and recommends strategies for strengthening their brand in the marketplace.

Plachy, a partner in the firm’s Denver office and previously the practice group leader of the firm’s Litigation practice group, is a trial lawyer who represents companies in civil lawsuits ‎involving significant financial or reputational exposure. He has tried ‎many complex commercial, real estate, construction, product ‎liability, and class action cases. Plachy also regularly advises businesses concerning corporate ‎governance, risk management, and strategic planning issues.
