General and Uniform State Funding of Public Schools
Represented the Arizona School Boards Association in filing an Amicus Brief on behalf of the plaintiffs-appellants in the Roosevelt Elementary School District Number 66 v. Bishop case. As you may know, in that case the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the current school finance scheme itself creates substantial disparities between school districts and, therefore, violates the Arizona Constitution’s requirement that state funding of public schools be “general and uniform.”
