
Doug Gerlach is of counsel in the firm's Litigation Practice Group. Doug's practice primarily focuses on general commercial litigation and appellate matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug served for 10 and one-half years as an Arizona (Maricopa County) Superior Court Judge. During that time, he was assigned to the civil (four years), family (three years), criminal (two years), and appellate (18 months) divisions.
Doug’s career as a lawyer began in private practice and consisted principally of business-related litigation. During that time, he also took a two-year leave of absence from private practice to serve as a trial lawyer with the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office. While in private practice, he was recognized by his peers in the publication, The Best Lawyers in America, in commercial litigation and antitrust law.
For more than 20 years, Doug served as a member of the faculty for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. His participation in community affairs has included service on the City of Mesa (Arizona) Library and Human Services Advisory boards. In addition, he is an alumnus of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Program and Mesa's Citizen Police Academy.
