Lewis Roca Lawyer Elected Chairman of City of Phoenix North Mountain Village Planning Committee

PHOENIX (July 20, 2020) – Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie announced real estate lawyer, Tyler Carrell, has been elected Chairman of the North Mountain Village Planning Committee for 2020. The City of Phoenix is divided into 15 urban Villages and each Village has a Village Planning Committee (VPC) appointed by the Mayor of Phoenix and the Phoenix City Council. The Committees help identify areas or provisions of the vision and policies that determine how a city will grow and develop.

Carrell’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, commercial finance and general corporate law. In his role as Chairman of the North Mountain Village Planning Committee, he will lead the Committee in identifying aspects of the City of Phoenix’s General Plan that may require amendment or modification and help develop a long-term plan for the North Mountain Village located in North Central Phoenix. Carrell and the North Mountain VPC will also make recommendations on rezoning requests and provide input on proposed commercial, industrial, medical and retail development in the North Mountain area.

Carrell was originally appointed to the North Mountain VPC in 2016 by former Phoenix City Councilman Bill Gates and was reappointed to another two-year term by Phoenix City Councilwoman Debra Stark in 2018. In addition to his service on the North Mountain Village Planning Committee, Carrell is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maricopa County Bar Association, and in 2020, was selected to serve as President-Elect.
